The City of Greater Dandenong values the ideas and opinions of its residents, rate payers and business and wants them to be a part of planning and decision make processes. We recognise that decision making and services are enhanced when the community has an opportunity to provide input and express its expectations, aspirations and ideas.
Council regularly seeks community views on a range projects and plans via online consultations, surveys, workshops, focus groups and advisory committees.
Community Engagement Policy and Framework
To ensure that our engagement is best practice a Community Engagement Policy and Framework have been developed. The policy outlines Council's commitment to thorough, consistent and genuine community engagement that will inform responsible decision making for the benefit of the community, while the framework provides for more comprehensive and broader community engagement with a wider range of mechanisms.
Below is a copy of Greater Dandenong’s Community Engagement Planning Framework which outlines the methodologies and key principles Council applies when engaging with stakeholders.
The Framework also aligns with Council’s already endorsed Community Engagement Policy.
