Take a Swing Charity Golf 2022

Take a Swing for Charity Golf Day

Take a Swing for Charity is an annual afternoon of golf held each February to raise funds for local charities. The Golf Day is supported by corporate sponsors, many of whom have provided continuous sponsorship since its inception in 2009.

From 2009 to 2023 Take a Swing for Charity has raised almost $600,000 and provided much needed financial support to 16 charitable organisations over the period.

This has directly helped thousands of community members, ranging from individuals and families, young and old experiencing disadvantage, homelessness, food insecurity, domestic violence, disability, insufficient health care, educational challenges or barriers to employment. Read the year-by-year summaries on the Take a Swing for Charity - Previous Events webpage

Get involved in 2024 and our local charity

Help us to reach our 15th anniversary target of $700,000 with this year’s Take a Swing for Charity Golf Day.

Supporting 17 local charities since its inception in 2009, Take a Swing has helped thousands in our community. Funds raised have been used to support individuals and families (young and old) experiencing food insecurity, poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, and health care concerns. We’ve also supported programs that address the challenges of disability and removed barriers to employment.

Want to get involved?

This year’s event will be held on Tuesday 20 February at one of the finest golf clubs in the world - Kingston Heath – host of the 2028 Presidents Cup.

If you’re not a golfer, you can still help. Donate direct to Cornerstone – this year’s recipient charity - provide an auction item, or even join us for dinner and the auction. Cornerstone has been serving this community for more than 30 years.

Our target for 2024 is $50,000 with all funds raised going towards a custom-built multi-purpose space for Cornerstone. The space will allow for the storage of food and emergency relief items and will provide a drop-in space alongside Cornerstone’s community garden.  This space will enable Cornerstone to increase their operations from 3 days to 6 days a week and help an additional 100 people a week.

Take a Swing is only possible through the support of a small, dedicated group of sponsors and the broader business community who come together, enjoy the golf and camaraderie that follows, all while giving back to our most vulnerable.   This model of Greater Dandenong’s business community coming together to support local charities is Take a Swing’s bedrock.

As Take a Swing for Charity relies on the goodwill and financial support of our industry sponsors, players on the day and organisations donating items for player prizes and the golf day auction.

Why not consider becoming a sponsor, join the fun as a player (teams of four), or donate a prize or auction item.

This year, players have an opportunity to win a Nissan X Trail from Booran Motors with a Hole-in-One, and $500 cash if you win the putting competition.

Cost

Playing team of four - $1,860 (includes lunch, round of golf, player gifts, drinks and dinner)
