Take a Swing for Charity 2020

Wednesday 26 February
Victoria Golf Club

This special celebration event was held at the fabulous and recently renovated Victoria Golf Club on Wednesday 26 February 2020.

More than $440,000 has been raised from this event for those in need within our community. Sadly, the need continues to grow as the new age of poverty impacts along with many crisis situations that require immediate attention.

As per previous years, this day is all about making a difference and raising funds for our local communities. This year’s primary recipient is Taskforce – a charitable organisation founded in 1973 whose vision is giving life-changing opportunities for those most in need. Taskforce is committed to supporting clients, using innovative programs, to transition back into ‘mainstream’ services and employment that will best enable them to reach their potential. This year we will also ‘share the love’ with the Bushfire Appeal.

Major sponsors for 2020 are: KPJ Group; Grenda Corporation; Future Recycling; Norden Conversion; Erntec, Telstra Business Centre Dandenong and Wadeson IP.

These funds will enable both charities to continue to provide services and material aid to help those most in need in our community. Funds will be used to provide breakfasts for 12 months for local secondary school students and hygiene packs for those living on the street, in cars, in rooming houses etc.

A new ‘Changing Face of Poverty Network’ will be established, bringing service providers together to share information and resources. This Network will also enable workers to gain a holistic understanding of the issues facing their clients and collaboratively plan and address interventions more effectively than one agency working on its own could ever do. This network will be facilitated by Avocare.
