Library membership benefits
Borrow books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and more for free from any participating Libraries Victoria library.
Access to a variety of creative, digital literacy, business and general programs and workshops.
Language and literacy advice and referral.
Literacy and learning help and support for adults.
Free downloads of eBooks, Audiobooks, eMagazines and online resources.
- Full (must be a resident of Victoria). This includes membership of participating Libraries Victoria libraries.

Full Library Membership
For a full library membership, (available to residents of Victoria), visit Springvale or Dandenong Library and provide:
- One form of photo ID with proof of current address, or
- Two separate forms of ID with proof of current address, or
- A combination of one form of photo ID and one form of ID with proof of current address.
Acceptable forms of current address can be:
- Utility bills or Council rates bill
- Lease/tenancy agreement
- Bank statement or official letters
- Official communications from academic institutions, government departments, police and law courts.
All photo ID cards must be original hard copies. Some forms of ID are acceptable in electronic format (e.g. bills, bank statements).
Please note children under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian present to sign their membership card.
Parents or guardians must accept the Conditions of Use that apply to computer and WiFI access at the libraries if they wish their children to access these services.
Temporary Visitor's Membership
For temporary visitors to the library, a three month membership with limited resource access is available.
Any form of ID is acceptable with or without a photo.
Libraries Victoria Membership
Greater Dandenong Libraries members can use the library card to borrow items at over 150 Council Libraries across Victoria as part of the Libraries Victoria network..
Lost Membership Cards
If library membership cards are lost, misplaced or stolen membership, report it to the library as soon as possible to prevent the card being used by someone else. Items borrowed, lost or damaged on the card remain the responsibility of the card holder.
There is a small fee to issue a replacement library card.
Change of Details
To change email or postal address or phone number, contact the libraries to update membership records.
