People moving and performing on stage

At the heart of Uncharted Waters: The Journey of Mother Tongue is Primordial (2026), a newly commissioned dance film by choreographer Annalouise Paul.

Presented on a spiral-shaped architectural wall rather than a conventional screen, the work invites visitors to move through the installation and experience the choreography from changing perspectives.

Inspired by the Fibonacci spiral and forms found throughout nature, Primordial combines movement, sound and architecture to explore themes of rhythm, transformation, connection and belonging. Part of Paul's long-running Mother Tongue® project, the work reflects on how knowledge, culture and memory are carried through bodies across generations.
