The main objective of this project is to reduce congestion and increase safety as well as increase the durability of the road pavement to cater for commercial vehicle traffic.
Stage One - Between Greens Road and Pacific Drive
Project Objective/Scope
Construction of the approximately 850 meter section of Perry Road between Greens Road and Pacific Drive was delivered in accordance with the requirements of the Dandenong Industrial Area Extension Developer Contribution Plan (DCP). This included road pavement reconstruction, widening, drainage, streetlights, shared user paths and landscaping.
Completion of this project has delivered a safer road environment for motorists, pedestrians, residents, and businesses alike.
To complement the road construction landscaping and a shared path were delivered to make the area more eye pleasing and pedestrian friendly. New streetlights and an upgrade of storm water assets were part of the construction works.
Construction works commenced in September 2023 and were completed in September 2024.
Stage Two - Pacific Drive to Atlantic Drive, Keysborough
Project Objective/Scope
Construction of the approximately 550 metre section of Perry Road between Pacific Drive and Atlantic Drive was delivered in accordance with the requirements of the Dandenong Industrial Area Extension Developer Contribution Plan (DCP). This included road pavement reconstruction, widening, drainage, streetlights, shared user paths and landscaping.
Completing this project delivered a safer road environment for motorists, pedestrians, residents, and businesses alike.
To complement the road construction landscaping and a shared path were delivered consistent with Stage 1, to make the area more eye pleasing and pedestrian friendly. New streetlights and an upgrade storm water asset were part the construction works.
Construction commenced in September 2024 and was completed in June 2025.
Stage Three - Atlantic Road to Pillars Road, Keysborough
Project Objective/Scope
This is the third and final stage of the Perry Road Construction and Widening Project. It includes:
- Road widening
- Pavement reconstruction
- Upgrades to drainage
- Installation of guardrails and streetlights
- A new shared user path.
Timing
Construction will commence in September 2025 and is estimated to be completed by the end of June 2026.
Traffic Impacts
- Council will notify residents and businesses ahead of the commencement of works.
- VMS (digital) boards will advise motorists of any significant disruptions, such as road closures, so motorists, residents and businesses can plan accordingly.
The project will be delivered with support from the Dandenong Industrial Area Extension Developer Contribution Plan (DCP).
