Walker Street Kitchen is a socially engaged art project by acclaimed artist Nadia Hernández (Venezuela/Australia), exploring cultural memory, belonging and intergenerational knowledge through food. Bringing together local growers, market traders, and chefs, the project reflects on the stories, traditions and rituals connected to growing, preparing and sharing food.
Through multimedia installation, conversations, communal meals and collective storytelling, the exhibition becomes a living archive, revealing how food carries history, sustains cultural traditions and strengthens connections across communities and generations.
Presented by Greater Dandenong City Council. Curated by Miriam La Rosa.
