Exhibition Dates: 9 December 2026 - 27 February 2027
Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre
Open 11am - 3pm, Wednesday to Saturday

This socially engaged art project by acclaimed artist Nadia Hernández (Venezuela / Australia) uses food as both subject and medium to explore cultural memory, belonging and intergenerational knowledge. Bringing together local growers, market traders, and visiting and local chefs, Walker Street Kitchen reflects on the poetic and cultural dimensions of food, from growing and sourcing produce to the rituals of cooking and sharing meals.

Through multimedia installation, conversations, communal meals and collective storytelling, the exhibition unfolds as a living archive, revealing how food carries histories, sustains cultural traditions and forges connections across communities and generations.
