This Composting Workshop, held as part of the National Science Week celebrations, will be held on Wednesday 19 August at 10.30am at the North Dandenong Neighbourhood House, 41 Menzies Avenue in North Dandenong.
It will provide participants with practical knowledge on converting household food and garden waste into nutrient-rich compost. Participants will learn how to compost food and garden waste, what materials to include or avoid, and how to maintain a healthy compost system empowering attendees to start composting at home.
The session will cover the fundamentals of composting, including suitable materials, maintaining a healthy compost system, and the environmental benefits of reducing organic waste.
A community waste education team member from the City of Greater Dandenong will be conducting the session.
As part of the event, one lucky participant will win a compost bin.
