Join us for engaging and fun water safety sessions designed specifically for adults. The first session will be classroom based (dry) and then you will have two options to attend for the in-water session (wet).
All Adults Dry Session - Tuesday 13 October
Learn essential water safety knowledge to help you enjoy waterways more safely. This classroom-based session covers recognising risks in rivers, lakes and coastal environments, emergency response strategies and also provides practical strategies to be safe this summer. This dry session is compulsory if you would like to attend a wet session.
All Adults Wet Session - Wednesday 15 October
Put water safety skills into practice in the pool. You will focus on building your confidence and capability in the water. Learn or refine your water safety skills while gaining a better understanding of swimming safely in open water and pool environments. Suitable for all swimming abilities. Swimwear will be required.
Female Only Wet Session - Tuesday 20 October
This female-only wet session is designed to provide a culturally safe and inclusive environment. We recognise that women from some cultural, religious and linguistically diverse backgrounds may feel more comfortable participating in a female-only setting. Creating this dedicated space helps remove barriers to participation and supports women to build confidence, water safety knowledge and skills in a welcoming environment. Suitable for all swimming abilities. Swimwear will be required.
Participants must attend the dry session to be eligible to attend a wet session.
This program is designed for people from refugee, migrant and multicultural backgrounds that are aged 18 years or older.
