Council has secured funding through the State Government Safer Local Roads and Streets Program. The funding will be used to deliver road safety improvements to encourage safer driver speeds and help reduce the risk of people being injured on Chapel Road.
Between February 2018 and December 2024, there were 10 crashes along this section of Chapel Road, resulting in 21 injuries, including vulnerable road users such as cyclists and motorcyclists.
Traffic surveys show that many drivers exceed the 60 km/h speed limit, increasing the risk and severity of crashes. To improve safety, Council has secured funding through the State Government Safer Local Roads and Streets Program.
The funding will be used to deliver road safety improvements to encourage safer driver speeds and help reduce the risk of people being injured on Chapel Road.

We are now seeking resident and local business feedback via a survey on initial designs to shape the design. The survey will be open from Thursday 8 October.
The survey closes on Monday 2 November 2026.
