77 Herbert Street, Dandenong - New Pocket Park
Greater Dandenong Council is transforming 77 Herbert Steet, Dandenong into a new pocket park.
As part of implementing Council's Open Space Strategy 2020-2030, Council recently purchased 77 Herbert Street, Dandenong to transform the site into a pocket park. The vision for the park is that it shall become a high-quality landscaped park that provides shade, seating, and plantings for local residents to relax outdoors and be close to nature.
Highlights of the draft concept plan include;
- Shade trees, sensory shrubs and ground cover plantings that provide a variety of colours and textures
- A feature paved area with shade trees, seating and a picnic table
- An open grassed area with shade trees and a perimeter garden bed with colourful low shrubs and ground covers
- New park fencing
- Drinking fountain
- A widened nature strip with feature tree planting to provide additional shade and to identify the park's location on Herbert Street
