Online Planning Portal

Council’s Online Planning Portal allows you to:

  • submit and manage planning applications
  • view advertised applications and documents
  • track application progress
  • pay fees securely.

Access the Online Planning Portal

You must agree to the Terms and Conditions when submitting an application or using the Planning Register.

Registration or login is not required to submit an application or make a payment.

MyGreaterDandenong registration is only available to property owners or a company nominee registered on Council records.

Online payments

To pay your planning application fee:

  1. Select Permit Payment
  2. Enter your application number in the Permit No field
  3. Click Next and follow the prompts.

To submit a new planning permit or planning enquiry application

  • Select Submit an Application

If you have a planning application in progress

  • Search your application number in the Planning Register
  • Available actions depend on the current stage of your application, such as:
    • Respond to a Request for Further Information (RFI) or ask for more time
    • Upload additional documents
    • Request an amendment:
      • under Section 50 (before notice)
      • under Section 57A (after notice - fees apply)
    • Change applicant details
    • Withdraw your application.

If you have an existing planning permit

  • Search your application number in the Planning Register
  •  Available actions depend on the current stage of your application, such as:
    • submit plans and documents for endorsement (to comply with permit conditions)
    • request to extend the permit expiry date
    • apply to amend endorsed plans (Secondary Consent).

Through the register, you can:

  • view details of all planning and subdivision applications lodged since 1 January 2010
  • check advertised applications and view documents on public notification - select Advertised Applications
  • lodge a submission/objection to a planning permit application
  • track the status of an application.

Online Planning Portal - Terms and Conditions

General

You agree to provide any relevant information, documents or attachments in the format and to the standards prescribed by the Greater Dandenong City Council (Council) for the purpose of the Online Planning Portal. If Council requires any further information, documents or attachments, you agree to provide them in the form requested by Council.

If your application does not include all relevant supporting documentation, or documentation is not provided in the form prescribed by Council, your application may be delayed or rejected. An application is not considered as lodged until all required information has been received, including payment of the applicable fees.

Council may change these Terms and Conditions from time to time without notification. It is your responsibility to ensure that you review the Terms and Conditions when you submit an application or provide additional information.

Payment

By accessing Council’s Online Planning Portal, you are representing that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to contract in Australia.

The payment of any applicable lodgement or application fees is subject to the relevant statutory and Council approval processes.

Security of information

The Online Planning Portal is a secure way to lodge applications and provide documents to Council. Council has ensured that the transmission process is as accessible and secure as possible and will take all reasonable steps to preserve the security of information that it receives through the platform. However, any information which you transmit using the Online Planning Portal is transmitted at your own risk.

Accessibility

Council makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, about the availability or response time of the Online Planning Portal. Access to the Online Planning Portal may be terminated or suspended by Council at any time without notice. Our disclaimer will nevertheless survive any such termination.

Disclaimer of liability

Except as provided by law, Council does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage, however caused (including through negligence), which you may directly or indirectly suffer in connection with your use of the Online Planning Portal.

Privacy Collection Notice

Your personal Information is being collected by Greater Dandenong City Council for the primary purpose of processing your application in accordance with the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and for related municipal purposes. The information may be included in a public register of planning permit applications as required under the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and may be disclosed to external consultants and referral authorities in order to assess your application. It will not be disclosed to any other external party without your consent, unless required by law. 

All planning permit applications are available for public inspection at Council’s offices during the assessment period and until the end of the latest period during which an application for a review may be made. During the assessment period, information from this application may be available on Council’s website as part of Advertising Documentation and may be available at public meetings. You may request a copy of your application from Council’s Planning Team at any time. If you fail to provide any of the information required, Council will get in touch with the nominated contact to request further information.
