Hazardous manual handling continues to be the most common cause of injury in workplaces.
Manual handling basics is a free education program delivered by WorkSafe Victoria, helping employers who manage occupational health and safety (OHS) in small to medium businesses. Get practical tools to prevent injuries, improve safety and support a more productive workplace.
What you’ll gain?
At this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Identify hazardous manual handling risks
- Understand common musculoskeletal injuries, including sprains, strains, back injuries, soft tissue injuries, hernias and chronic pain
- Carry out a basic risk assessment
- Apply a simple risk management approach in your workplace
- Recognise early signs of injury
- Aaccess free tools, support and information
You’ll also hear from an independent ergonomics and safety expert, with the opportunity to receive practical advice on managing manual handling risks in your workplace.
