Enjoy listening to and sharing stories from local community members of their family experiences of settling, working and life in the City of Greater Dandenong over the centuries.

Stories of life on the land, post WW2 migration stories of arriving during the 1950s and working in the new manufacturing plants of GMH, Heinz or International Harvester in Dandenong and stories from more recent arrivals from Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Middle East.

Hear how local government has supported, celebrated and recognised these diverse journeys. A storytelling afternoon that will provide an opportunity to listen, share, reflect, learn, and question over a delicious afternoon tea.

This program is being run in conjunction with the Optimism, Opportunities and Achievement’: A reflection on the Centenary of Local Government in Dandenong in 1973 exhibition.
