Join us to celebrate National Tree Day on Saturday at Somerfield Reserve, Keysborough on the corner of Eastbury Street and Westwood Boulevard.
National Tree Day is a call-to-action for Australians to unite and give back to the community and the land on which they live. So far nearly 26 million trees have been planted by around 5 million people in aid of National Tree Day. There will be plenty to do on the day with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by Traditional Custodians from the Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation, planting activities, native plant giveaways, a wildlife presentation and a free sausage sizzle.
Remember to wear warm clothes and footwear suitable for uneven and muddy ground that you won't mind getting dirty. Bring drinking water, a pair of gloves and a hand towel to wipe your hands with.
If you can’t make it on this day, we have another National Tree Day event on Sunday 26 July at Tirhatuan Park, Dandenong North. Learn more here.
