Perc.U.lations - Poetry and Spoken Word

94
People in a workshop.

Perc.U.lations is a regular poetry and spoken word event including an open mic and a featured poet.

Perc.U.lations is committed to highlighting the voices of women and gender-diverse poets. Our goal is a minimum of 50% or more of all features to be people who identify as women or gender-diverse throughout the year. 2025 is our third year.

If you arrive early from 2pm onwards, you can join other poets to have a great conversation, enjoy the Kafé on Hemmings menu, and possibly write some words of your own using prompts and ideas generated by Anke and our regular poets and spoken word artists.

The open mic is available for as many poets as we can feasibly squeeze in before and after our feature, usually around 10 people, or as much poetry as we are happy to share, if our crowd is a little more intimate.

Perc.U.lations takes place about a 15-minute walk from either Dandenong or Yarraman train stations. There is also parking available behind the medical centre on the opposite corner to the cafe on the Wilma Street and Hemmings intersection in Dandenong.

This event is ticketed using ‘Pay as you Feel’ in cash or via a QR code on the day.

The Kafé will continue serving the general public as well as our audience. Open-mic and feature presenters are therefore asked to keep their works in the 'PG' range for this event for this reason.

Let us put the 'you' in the Kafé on Hemmings Perc.U.lations sometime soon.

The venue is accessible and wheelchair friendly.
