From 2015 to 2023, the Victorian Government will remove 50 of the worst level crossings in Melbourne to improve safety, reduce congestion and enable more frequent train services. This will include the removal of the following level crossings in Greater Dandenong:
- Corrigan Road, Noble Park
- Chandler Road, Noble Park
- Heatherton Road, Noble Park
- South Gippsland Highway, Dandenong
A Level Crossing Removal Authority has been established to deliver the program. The authority will oversee construction of each level crossing removal to ensure they are delivered in a coordinated and efficient way. Planning and early consultation has started across Melbourne on the delivery of the full program of 50 level crossing removals.
