Lonsdale Street in Dandenong

Lonsdale Street Parking Trial

While many of the busiest on-street parking areas in Dandenong have ticket parking fees in place to encourage turnover and control perking occupancy, parking on Lonsdale Street is temporarily free.

This initiative is in place to further support business recovery and align with visitor attraction initiatives following the impact of COVID-19 lockdowns on the Activity Centre.

Which parts of Lonsdale Street does the Trial apply to?

The Free Parking Trial applies to the Lonsdale Street Service Lanes between Clow Street and Foster Street.

How long will the Free Parking Trial last?

Council resolved to extend the Free Parking Trial until 30 June 2023.

Who do I contact if I have concerns with the trial?

Council is aware of a number of issues affecting businesses within the trial area and how hard it can be to find a parking space at some times.

Council will undertake further consultation with businesses on the following proposals to assist:

  • 2P to 1P in service lane section (165-225 Lonsdale Street)
  • Increase number of 15-minute bays in service lane section (243-319 Lonsdale Street)

Consultation will be undertaken during periods when most businesses are open, so that all businesses can have their say.
