Walkinshaw Group has officially opened its new Australian headquarters in Dandenong South. It marks a major investment in Melbourne’s advanced manufacturing sector and reinforcing the Greater Dandenong’s reputation as a hub for innovation.
The purpose-built headquarters by Salta properties consolidates Walkinshaw’s manufacturing, engineering, remanufacturing, and corporate operations onto a single site for the first time. Located at 820 Taylors Road, the expansive campus spans more than 100,000sqm, including 46,000sqm of advanced warehouse and manufacturing space, 3,000sqm of modern office facilities, and 33,000sqm of hardstand, supported by 700 on-grade car parks.
Designed for efficiency and growth, the facility features four specialist production lines for some of the world’s largest Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), as well as dedicated engineering systems for Walkinshaw’s racing team.
Walkinshaw Group Director Ryan Walkinshaw said the new headquarters will transform the business, “Bringing multiple teams and specialist manufacturing lines together for the first time on one purpose-built site will drive enormous cohesion, efficiencies and growth across the Walkinshaw Group. Importantly, the site will support over a thousand local jobs, securing the retention and expansion of manufacturing and engineering roles in Dandenong and the broader region.”
The headquarters also incorporates sustainability initiatives, including solar power systems, waste reduction programs, and future connectivity to an intermodal freight rail link, aligning with Walkinshaw’s commitment to carbon neutrality.
Greater Dandenong City Council Mayor Cr Sophie Tan welcomed the investment, “It is exciting to welcome Walkinshaw Group’s new state-of-the-art headquarters at Salta's Nexus Dandenong South industrial precinct. This investment reinforces our municipality’s reputation as a hub for manufacturing and innovation. This also brings future employment opportunities for our local community.”
Walkinshaw took occupancy in October, with its Walkinshaw Andretti United Supercars Championship team scheduled to join the site in mid 2026.
