Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy

Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy July 2026

The Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy (Policy) explains how the Council works to keep children safe.

It helps the Council to:

  • promote the safety of children,
  • prevent child abuse, and
  • respond properly to any reports or concerns about child abuse or child safety.

The policy explains what is expected of Councillors and Council Workers to keep children safe. It also gives information to children, young people, families, and the community about how to report child safety concerns or complaints to the Council.

The Policy makes sure the Council is compliant with the law and meets national child safety principles.
