Dandenong Pathway to Employment Hub

The Dandenong Pathway to Employment Hub is a Council led service designed to help people navigate their pathway toward work. It is a three-year pilot project, the first of its kind, funded by the Australian Government and delivered in partnership with the Victorian Government and will be co-located with Council’s Dandenong Civic Offices at 225 Lonsdale Street, Dandenong.

The Hub supports people who may be unsure where to start, who feel overwhelmed by employment or training options, or who have not been able to access the right support at the right time.

Rather than delivering job placement or training services directly, the Hub focuses on helping people understand their options, identify their next steps, and connect with the most appropriate existing services to support their employment journey.

How will the Hub work?

The Hub works with people to:

  • Talk about their experience, skills and goals
  • Understand where they are in their employment journey
  • Make sense of different employment, training and support options
  • Connect with appropriate programs and services
  • Feel more confident engaging with those services once referred

The Hub does not employ people or deliver training directly. Its role is to support navigation, clarity and connection — not to replace existing services.

The Hub will be working with employers

The Hub also works directly with local employers to:

  • Understand workforce needs and recruitment challenges
  • Strengthen connections between employers and existing employment and training services
  • Support more flexible and inclusive approaches to recruitment and retention

By working with both people and employers, the Hub helps strengthen local employment pathways and improve outcomes across the system.

What do we expect the Hub to achieve?

The Hub is:

  • A navigation and pathway support service
  • A place to get clarity about next steps toward work
  • A connector between people, employers and existing services

The Hub is not:

  • A job agency
  • A recruitment service
  • A training provider
  • A case management service
