COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) Program

Greater Dandenong City Council was part of the Victorian Government’s Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) Program. The program began in October 2022 with Victorian council’s distributing over 4 million tests to their local communities.

As part of this project the Greater Dandenong Emergency Management Team distributed approximately 500,000 Rapid Antigen tests and 156,000 masks.

Providing free Rapid Antigen Tests and masks has been vital in ensuring the Greater Dandenong community could access fast testing to keep themselves, their families, and their communities safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This Program came to an end on 31 December 2023. If you have any RATs still in circulation, please check the expiry date and if necessary, dispose appropriately.

Where to get Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs)

RATs can be bought at supermarkets, pharmacies, and other retailers. Buy these early and plan ahead by keeping some at home for testing if you have COVID-19 symptoms.
