Ross Reserve Athletics Facility

The Ross Reserve Athletics Facility is in Ross Reserve, Noble Park and is a World Athletics Certificate II certified athletics facility which can accommodate a variety of athletics events and activities.

The facility includes the following components:

  • Eight Lane Synthetic Athletics Track.
  • Four Long / Triple Jump Pits.
  • Four Shot Put circles.
  • Two High Jump areas.
  • Two Javelin run-ups.
  • Discus / Hammer Throw Cage
  • Discus Throw Cage
  • Steeple Chase water pit
  • Pole Vault (in-ground infrastructure only)

Supporting the above components is spectator seating, public toilets and sports pavilion with canteen, storage, social space, first aid room and change rooms.

Conditions of use

The facility has the following conditions of use:

  • Children under 12 must be actively supervised by an adult. The athletics facility is not a playground.
  • Enter the track at the gate and give way to runners on the track.
  • Run in an anticlockwise direction.
  • Follow your lane.
  • Participants engaging in slow running/walking are to use lanes 7 and 8.
  • Stay off the field during throws training.
  • Look both ways when crossing the track.
  • Do not block the track by gathering in groups, particularly at the finish line.
  • No smoking/vaping within the facility.
  • No ball games.
  • No dogs.
  • No Bikes, inline skates, scooters, and skateboards.
  • No block spikes longer than 12mm.
  • No shoe Spikes longer than 7mm. 
  • Please respect local residents and other Reserve users when entering, using, and leaving the reserve.

Casual booking process

The facility is available for event and casual bookings. Please note that the facility is closed to the public during bookings, including school bookings and athletic club’s allocated times.

To hire the athletics facility, you need to fill out the application form below.

Casual use of a reserve/sports ground form 

Your application will then need to be assessed, so please apply well in advance.

No matter how big or small your event is, please ensure you submit an application form. That way we can ensure the grounds and toilets are clean and maintained and we can also advise you if there are other events on that may disturb yours.
