The Greater Dandenong Volunteer Resource Service (GDVRS) helps connect people with volunteer opportunities across Greater Dandenong. The service supports individuals interested in volunteering and assists local organisations to recruit, engage and retain volunteers.
GDVRS provides a range of services, including:
- Connecting local people with volunteering opportunities
- Supporting community organisations to recruit volunteers
- Delivering regular training and development opportunities for volunteers
- Providing information, training, support and resources to Volunteer Managers and Coordinators.
GDVRS offers flexible engagement options, including face-to-face and online and telephone appointments.
GDVRS Service Transition
The Greater Dandenong Volunteer Resource Service (GDVRS) is currently transitioning to a new provider.
Before we look ahead, we would like to sincerely thank South East Volunteers (SEV) for their commitment to delivering this service since it launched in 2015. Over many years, SEV has played an important role in supporting our community volunteers with meaningful opportunities and supporting community participation throughout Greater Dandenong.
From October 2026, this service will be delivered by Dandenong Community and Learning Centre (DCLC), continuing its important role in supporting volunteering, strengthening community connections and growing opportunities in Greater Dandenong.
Service Pause
To support a smooth transition there will be a temporary pause in operations between 1 September and 1 October. This transition period will allow DCLC to establish the systems and processes needed to deliver a high-quality service into the future.
