It's been a truly enjoyable experience working closely with many of you during my first few months as your councillor.
I'm thrilled to be addressing long-standing issues, such as parking around the market and cleaning up our Ward. Tackling dumped rubbish has been a primary focus, and I'm pleased to report we’re continuing with the existing hot spots trial program where dumped rubbish hotspots are monitored daily or weekly depending on the location. This ensures our neighbourhoods remain clean and welcoming.
If you see any rubbish, please don't hesitate to use the Snap Send Solve app to report it. If you don’t have access to the app, please telephone 8571 1000 or visit our customer services centres in Dandenong, Springvale or Keysborough.
I'm excited to be contributing to the Dandenong Community Hub plans. I'm also contributing, along with the Dandenong Market, to Council's Market Precinct Plan. It should be out later in the year for public comment and I encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas. Your input is invaluable, and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who continues to contribute to the co-design of the Hub. Together, we are making significant progress, but it’s crucial that we continue to prioritise the needs of our community.
Additionally, I have noticed a concerning lack of community spaces in Cleeland, and I am advocating for better access to existing facilities to enable more community gatherings. I will keep you updated on this initiative.
Also, I am eager to explore future funding opportunities to enhance Apex Park and will keep you up-to-date on that. Lastly, I have news about the Dandenong Wellbeing Centre project — the contract has been signed, and construction will start in the upcoming months. Visit Council's website for ongoing updates.
