I am so proud to represent the Springvale Central Ward. Springvale is a place where people support their neighbours, embrace diversity and stay connected. It is a place where people feel welcome and supported.
In June I joined with the community to celebrate the best of our suburb at Springvale Winter Fest. The vibrant, winter-themed carnival and food festival was a family-friendly event that had something for everyone.
Something that was on show was our city’s cultural diversity, including a strong showing from our Vietnamese community. This year marks 50 years since the first Vietnamese refugees arrived in Australia beginning a journey of hope, resilience and new opportunity. They have helped shape the identity of Greater Dandenong as a vibrant, inclusive and thriving community, and we are proud of their lasting contributions.
A program of water main renewal was carried out across our city including in Springvale Central Ward. More than $685,000 was invested in the critical infrastructure that supports our growing community now and into the future.
Recently we adopted the Annual Budget for 2026/27, but I would like to take a moment to celebrate recent projects completed in Springvale Central Ward.
Olinda Avenue Kindergarten received an upgrade to the toilet area as well as some new blinds. This work reflects our commitment to supporting local families and creating welcoming spaces where children can learn, play and thrive. Investing in our kindergartens helps ensure young families have access to quality facilities close to home.
A project to upgrade flooring at the Burden Park Bowls Club was also recently completed. This practical investment will improve comfort, safety and accessibility for visitors and reflects our commitment to supporting local community spaces where people can stay active, connected and engaged.
