Councillor Angela Long holding children's books in front of the little library lockers

Library patrons who live in Dandenong North have a more convenient way to borrow and return library books following the installation of a Little Library Locker. The Little Library consists of multiple little lockers at the front of the Menzies Avenue Hall and can be used by multiple people at once.

Patrons can use the library website (libraries.greaterdandenong.vic.gov.au) or contact library staff on 1300 630 920 to place a hold on library items for collection from the locker. They can also return library items at this location. Instructions on how to use the Little Library, including a QR code linking the Little Library back to the library website is situated on the side panel of the locker. Any Greater Dandenong library patron can use the Little Library by using their library card (physically or virtually) to collect their items once they are notified (via SMS, email or post) that they are available. Patrons can order books, magazines and audio visual items. This is a great innovation for the residents that live around the Menzies Ave region so that they do not have to visit either of our libraries at Dandenong or Springvale, which for some is difficult. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.

Why not visit the Dandenong Market and pick up some lovely flowers from the many flower stalls? While you are there you might want to explore this world class market and pick up some fresh meat, seafood, fruit and vegetables at very reasonable prices, or you might fancy buying something from the general merchandise area. You can also sit down and have a fresh meal or a snack from a wide variety of food stalls selling food from all over the world.
