As we welcome the warmer weather, it’s a lovely time to enjoy the outdoors – especially before the heat of summer truly sets in. November offers some of the most pleasant days of the year, and there are some wonderful ways to make the most of them right here in our own neighbourhood.
One such place is Alex Wilkie Reserve, a peaceful and well-cared-for natural space in Springvale South. On its regular open days, the reserve is free to visit and offers a chance to explore the local environment at your own pace or with the guidance of a knowledgeable ranger.
Whether you prefer a quiet walk among native plants or would like to learn more about the area’s unique ecology, the reserve provides a welcoming and informative experience for all ages. It’s a great way to spend time with family, meet other community members, or simply enjoy a moment of calm in nature.
And remember the fun to be had – at low cost – at the Springvale Live Steamers Railway at Alex Nelson Reserve. You can take the kids, or just yourself, for a spin on the rideable locomotives.
We encourage you to take advantage of these local treasures and enjoy the simple pleasure of being outdoors during this beautiful time of year.
