It continues to be a privilege to represent the Springvale South community and advocate for projects and initiatives that make our neighbourhoods safer, cleaner and more connected.
November is Recycling Month and I encourage everyone to take a moment to think about how we dispose of everyday items. Many electronic products, from old mobile phones and toys to electric toothbrushes and household appliances, contain valuable materials that can be recovered and reused. By keeping e-waste out of our household bins and recycling it correctly, we can help protect the environment, reduce fire risks and support a more sustainable future for our community.
We are continuing to invest in local infrastructure across Springvale South. This financial year, road improvement works are scheduled for Parker Street and Reginald Street, including kerb and channel renewal, drainage improvements, resurfacing and new line marking. Further upgrades are also planned for Carnation Court and Chanelle Court, helping to improve safety, accessibility and the overall condition of our local streets.
Another highlight has been seeing opportunities created for people of all ages to learn, connect and grow. We have some fantastic initiatives in place to make this happen. Learn more about our recent Lunch with the Winners event on page 6. Students heard firsthand from professionals about their career journeys and future pathways.
Local businesses also continue to access industry forums and build their professional networks, including through the recent Showcasing Women in Business event from South East Business Networks.
Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to making Springvale South such a welcoming and vibrant place to live. I look forward to continuing to work with residents to deliver positive outcomes for our community.
