Greater Dandenong City Council has recorded the highest community satisfaction survey results of 19 Melbourne metropolitan councils.
Each year, Greater Dandenong City Council takes part in an independent Community Satisfaction Survey. The survey assesses Council’s performance across a range of areas and provides insights into ways to improve service delivery.
For the second time Metropolis Research conducted the door-to-door survey, with staff speaking 17 languages.
“We were again ranked the highest-rated council of the 19 councils surveyed, achieving an overall satisfaction score of 7.4,” Greater Dandenong Mayor, Councillor Sophie Tan said proudly.
“We also outperformed the metropolitan average in most areas including services and facilities, planning and development and governance and leadership,” the Mayor added.
“The average satisfaction with facilities and services was 8.1, which is 2 points higher than the metropolitan average and we were way above the Melbourne metro average for Customer Service too. It is also the equal highest score recorded by Metropolis this year, and a record in in 25 years of surveys by Metropolis.
Greater Dandenong achieved satisfaction scores of:
- 8.5 for Customer service experience (9 points above the metropolitan average)
- 8.1 for Council services and facilities: (2 points above the metropolitan average)
- 7.9 for Planning and development: (5 points above the metropolitan average)
- 7.5 for Governance and leadership: (2 points above the metropolitan average)
The results were compared to 18 other metropolitan Councils including Monash, Knox, Frankston and Wyndham.
“This outcome reflects the dedication, professionalism and commitment of our staff across every department and should be a source of pride for our community,” Mayor Tan said.
