Greater Dandenong is proudly home to a vibrant and diverse community that lives together in peace and harmony.

Our residents come from at least 154 different nations, speak about 130 different languages and follow 80 different faiths, making this a truly global community.

Harmony Week (16-22 March) celebrates cultural diversity, respect and inclusion. The week coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on 21 March.

Greater Dandenong Mayor, Cr Sophie Tan said the theme for the week is ‘Everyone Belongs’ and echoes our own message that our city welcomes all.

“Harmony Week is a time for all of us to celebrate the rich cultural diversity that makes Greater Dandenong so welcoming,” Mayor Tan said.

“The week invites us to reflect on the values we share, including respect and inclusivity. As we come together for Harmony Week let’s continue to build a community where everyone feels they belong, where every voice is valued and where our differences strengthen rather than divide us.”

Greater Dandenong Libraries are hosting a range of activities to celebrate Harmony Week. Visit the libraries website to find out more.
