Local businesses connect at 'Meet the Builder' event for new Dandenong Wellbeing Centre

Meet the builder

More than 100 local suppliers and tradespeople attended the Dandenong Wellbeing Centre ‘Meet the Builder’ event last night.

The event, at Dandenong Civic Centre, gave local businesses the chance to learn more about the transformational project and how to register their interest in contributing to it.

Greater Dandenong City Council hosted ‘Meet the Builder’ in partnership with ADCO, the main contractor delivering the new Dandenong Wellbeing Centre. The South East Melbourne Manufacturers Alliance also attended.

Greater Dandenong City Council Mayor, Cr Jim Memeti, said the initiative was another step in ensuring local industry plays a key role in the delivery of the key community facility.

“Local businesses responded with real enthusiasm, with many already expressing their interest to be part of delivering this once-in-a-generation investment in community health and wellbeing” Cr Memeti said.

“We will continue working closely with ADCO to ensure our local economy benefits from this historic investment.”

Once opened in 2027, the Dandenong Wellbeing Centre will replace the current Dandenong Oasis and provide modern, inclusive spaces for health, fitness and community connection.
