Mayor welcomes hospital decision and investment in Greater Dandenong

The Mayor of Greater Dandenong City Council, Cr Sophie Tan has welcomed the Victorian Government’s announcement regarding a huge redevelopment of the Dandenong Hospital.  

Cr Tan said this announcement reflects the hospital’s vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of this community. She said, “the Dandenong Hospital is one of the busiest in the state, and provides essential services to residents and families across the municipality.
This hospital is incredibly important to our community. It supports people at every stage of life and keeps our residents healthy and connected to care.” 

“Council consistently advocates to maintain the level of service provided by the hospital, including it’s culturally sensitive service to our diverse community. This announcement is a positive step forward, and we welcome the investment it brings. Projects like this not only strengthen our local health services but also create new jobs and opportunities for our community.”

The Mayor noted that the hospital project is part of a bigger wave of investment and development across Greater Dandenong. “There is a great deal happening in Greater Dandenong right now. We are seeing significant investment, reflecting renewed confidence in our city’s future,” she said.  “This momentum is important. It means more jobs, better infrastructure and stronger outcomes for our community.”
