Did you know medicine blister packs can't go in your kerbside recycling bin? They are made from a combination of plastic and aluminium that requires specialised recycling.
Instead, you can recycle your empty blister packs through the Pharmacycle program at participating pharmacies across Greater Dandenong.
Once collected, the blister packs are sent to a specialist recycling facility where the plastic and aluminium are separated and processed into new products. This helps keep valuable materials in use, reduces waste sent to landfill and supports a circular economy.
Pharmacycle is Australia's first end-to-end recycling program for medicinal blister packs.
Before recycling, make sure your blister packs are completely empty. Then simply drop them into a Pharmacycle collection bin at a participating pharmacy. Many Chemist Warehouse and My Chemist stores also offer collection points.
