The Young Leaders Program offers the chance to develop leadership skills, build confidence, and make a real impact in your community.
This unique program offers training in leadership, communication, public speaking, advocacy and team work, while introducing you to the role of local government. You’ll meet sitting Councillors, learn how decisions are made and discover how your voice can shape local matters.
A highlight of the program is the opportunity to plan and deliver projects that address local youth issues. Last year’s Young Leaders created two incredible initiatives:
- A Youth Summit – “Your Voice. Your Future”
- A Vape Awareness Campaign to educate young people about e-cigarettes.
Here’s what one 2025 graduate had to say: “One of my favourite parts was the interaction with local government. Before joining, I didn’t realise how much power young people have to influence change. Through the Youth Summit, our Vape Awareness Project, and leadership workshops, I gained knowledge, confidence, and self-belief.”
