Winter Weed Control in Full Swing - Our Bright Green Future News - June 2025

biodiversity

Winter is one of the busiest times of year for our Conservation Crew, as cooler temperatures and damp conditions provide the perfect environment for many invasive annual weeds to thrive.

Although this season has seen significantly less rainfall, our team is still hard at work managing weed growth across our bushland reserves.

The crew is using a range of techniques including scorching, hand-weeding, mowing, brushcutting and targeted spraying to stay on top of emerging weeds before they set seed.

Alongside this crucial weed control work, the team is also busy planting native species and running community planting events, helping to restore and strengthen the biodiversity of our local ecosystems for the long term.
