The purpose of this policy is to provide key elements of Council’s approach to being a child safe organisation. It is designed to assist Council to prevent and respond to any alleged child abuse or child safety concerns that may occur within Council or any alleged child abuse or child safety concerns which is reported to Council.
This policy aims to:
- embed an organisational culture of child safety, and wellbeing for all children and young people including children or young people with a disability; and
- promote the cultural safety and wellbeing of children and young people who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders and/or from a culturally and linguistically diverse background.
