Here are some of the major projects underway or planned for central Dandenong. 

Revitalising central Dandenong

A Victorian Government initiative to transform central Dandenong into a vibrant and thriving economic hub. 

Around $700 million has been invested to date to rejuvenate and re-establish Dandenong’s city centre as the capital of Melbourne’s growing south-east region. Melbourne-based developer Capital Alliance has commenced work to deliver the first phase of the project.

Dandenong Market Precinct Plan (draft)

The draft Council-led Dandenong Market Precinct Plan provides a long-term strategic direction and vision for the Dandenong Market Precinct.

The precinct area includes the Dandenong Market building and surrounds, Clow, Cleeland and King Streets, Sleeth Avenue, the triangular Clow Street car park site, Palm Plaza and land between Lonsdale Street and Palm Plaza.

The draft Plan was developed through targeted stakeholder engagement, consultation with various experts and draws inspiration from market precincts around the world.

Dandenong Community Hub project

Council is planning a new community hub on the site bounded by Stuart Street, Clow Street and Sleeth Avenue in central Dandenong. 

The proposed Hub will bring a range of community services, programs and shared spaces together in one accessible location.
