Risk Management

Council is committed to managing risk, both within the community and within its own operations and activities. We identify and manage these risks in a systematic manner using the principles set out in Standards Australia AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 Risk Management – Principles and Guidelines.

Council’s Risk Management Policy provides the framework for achieving this and the Risk Management Strategy details how the policy is implemented.

The Risk Management Unit in addition to supporting the above

  • Identifies, reduces and manages risk in public places.
  • Resolves and manages claims against Council.
  • Provides advice on Public Liability and other Insurance matters.
