Declutter mess

Council has a range of services and events to assist and support residents to reuse, recycle and dispose of common household items.

Households in Greater Dandenong are provided with a number of options to dispose of their waste, including red lid garbage, yellow lid recycling and green lid food and garden waste bins. We also provide a free annual hard waste collection service.

Recycling stations are also available at each of our Customer Service Centres, allowing residents to safely dispose of smaller problem waste items, such as batteries, mobile phones, CDs, DVDs and light globes.

Reuse and Recycle Drop Off Day
Saturday 26 June 2021
8am to 1pm
Greaves Reserve Dandenong

This is a great opportunity to clear some space around the house, reduce landfill and give items a new life. Good quality reusable items will be donated to charities, whilst other items will be recycled to create new products.
This free event is in addition to your one free annual hard waste collection. By recycling and recovering our waste, we can reduce the amount of waste that is sent to landfill.
