Attending an Event in Greater Dandenong

Council is committed to ensuring all events in Greater Dandenong are COVIDSafe. There are different requirements depending on the type of event and where the event is being held.

Events in venues or fenced areas

If you are going to an event at a venue  (such as a theatre, a library or fenced outdoor venue) you must be fully vaccinated.

You are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for the purposes of attending a venue if:

  • you have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, or
  • you have a valid medical exemption to COVID-19 vaccination issued by an authorised medical practitioner, or
  • you are under the age of 18 years.

Individuals under the age of 18 years are not required to show proof of their vaccination to enter a venue.

You must be able to show evidence of your vaccination or carry a valid exception.  You will also need to check-in on entry.

Events in public open spaces

If you are going to an event in an open space such as street festival or in a park (unfenced) you will not be required to show evidence of your vaccination status. You are however, required to check-in where it has been provided at an event.

There may be fenced areas within an event you are visiting; people entering the fenced area must be fully vaccinated, show evidence of your vaccination or carry a valid exception.  You will also need to check-in.

Masks

Masks are required in all indoor venues. Masks are also recommended for all outdoor events especially when you can’t physically distance or if you are with people who may be vulnerable to COVID-19.  Always carry a mask when leaving home.
