A new video produced by local youth aims to raise awareness of the stigma and discrimination that exists for culturally diverse LGBTIQA+ young people.

The #Proud2Be project was created by young people with lived experience and participants were supported to make a short video to raise community awareness and understanding of the challenges they face.

A series of posters was also created to support the video‚Äôs key messages and share information about support services.

The video will be released to the public on IDAHOBIT (International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex Discrimination and Transphobia), on Friday 17 May.

The video and posters will be shared across our community, including through a social media campaign and workshops to be delivered at local secondary schools.

Participants hope this campaign will help to raise community awareness of some of the more subtle forms of discrimination, and the impacts this issue has on the lives of young people.

#Proud2Be was funded by the City of Greater Dandenong and the Victorian Government through the Healthy Equal Youth program.
