About Jim
I am a proud Dandenong resident of more than 50 years, with four generations of my family calling this community home. After a long and successful career in retail, I have stepped back from business to focus more deeply on my Councillor duties and community advocacy.
First elected to Council in 2005, I have been honoured to serve multiple mayoral terms. During my sixth term as Mayor, I proudly opened the Keysborough Community Hub in 2025. I am equally proud of major projects delivered over the years, including the Springvale Community Hub (2020) and the Dandenong Civic Centre (2014). I now look forward to the development of the Dandenong Wellbeing Centre - another significant investment in our city’s future. I firmly believe in building strong, long lasting infrastructure that will serve our community for decades.
I am passionate about delivering high quality services for young people, seniors and our multicultural community. My vision is for Council to connect people with the support they need to thrive - whether through Maternal and Child Health services, immunisation programs, literacy and homework support in our libraries, assistance for young entrepreneurs or programs that help older residents stay active. These services keep our community safe, healthy and resilient.
With a long history of involvement in business, community and sporting organisations, I am proud of Greater Dandenong as a multicultural success story - where people of diverse cultures, faiths and backgrounds live and work together harmoniously. I am also committed to championing our city as one of Australia’s key manufacturing hubs, supporting local investment, jobs and economic growth.
I will continue working hard to secure the best outcomes for our diverse Greater Dandenong community.
