What is an MLAK?
The Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) is an innovative system that enables people with disabilities to gain 24/7 access to a network of disability-friendly public facilities which are fitted with this specially designed lock..
The MLAK system has been fitted to elevators at railway stations, disability toilet and change room facilities in Council municipalities, national parks and in adaptive playground equipment (eg Liberty Swing) across Australia.
How to obtain an MLAK
You can borrow the MLAK from one of Council's customer service centres or the Dandenong Library.
Alternatively, people with a disability can purchase an MLAK at a locksmiths who is registered with the Master Locksmith Association for a small cost.

The Victorian Office for Disability and the Victorian Companion Card are partnering with the Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia (MLAA) to provide one free Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK) to Companion Card holders in order to increase access to Changing Places facilities.
