Let’s celebrate Finding Freedom during Refugee Week.
This year the theme for Refugee Week 2024 is "Finding Freedom: Family."
As a Refugee Welcome Zone, Greater Dandenong City Council will celebrate Refugee Week 17-23 June with a community event for all ages. The event will be held at Springvale Community Hub and will have live performances, cultural experiences, fun activities and a variety of community stalls.
We encourage all participants to explore the journey of resilience and unity that defines the refugee experience, with a focus on the power of family in the face of adversity.
This event aims to show support to refugee communities in Greater Dandenong and to engage and connect our community with local services.
Expression of Interest to participate
Council is seeking expressions of interest from community organisations who would like to be involved in the event on Saturday 22 June 1pm-3pm. Participation is free.
Expressions of interest for community organisation stalls close Friday 17 May or when positions are filled, whichever occurs earlier. Spots are highly limited and will be provided on a first come first serve basis.
