Birds and the Bees - Pollinators Citizen Science Program

Amersham Reserve is a beautiful wooded refuge for  a range of native animals.

The tall trees are full of habitat hollows and the native gardens provide food and shelter for insects, birds and reptiles.

This project aims to expand these gardens and create ‘pollinator observatories’ for people to sit and observe all the pollinators that visit the gardens. Blue-banded Bees, butterflies, other native bees, wasps, beetles and birds.

Watch this space for some pollinator resources.

To find out more actions Council is doing to ‘cool’ our city visit Council's Trees page.

If you would like to get involved in counting pollinators visit the Wild Pollinator Count website.

This project is funded by the Federal Government through the Communities Environment Program Grants and the City of Greater Dandenong.
